2 nights of solo and group performances of fictive bodies, narratives, associative sound/ movements, collective experiences by international partipants from the Berlin Post School for Physical Theater- Dance.
The showings include a wide range of works researched during this 3-month course designed for professional stage artists on the move.

The Berlin Post School of Physical Theatre-Dance 2010 is entering its 2nd month

The Berlin Post School with Tanzfabrik Berlin has been swiflty started with participants from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Chile, Brazil, Australia and India. Our intensive program which is unique in its kind for Europe is for professional dancers and physical theatre artists had so far Nayoung Kim (Pina Bausch), Max Schumacher (Post Theater New York/ Tokio/ Berlin) and Shannon Cooney (contemporary dance, Toronto/ Berlin) as guest teachers and the regular Monday morning kick off Kung Fu training at the Kung Fu academy as well as the amazing Gaga training from Israel with Shai Faran with still to come collaborator Minako Seki (Japanese modern Butoh) and another Master Class with Lisa Densem (former member of Sasha Waltz). Save the date of 3 & 4 July 2010 where we will present all solo and group performances at Tanzfabrik Berlin. Information to be followed.

Important Notice regarding the Body Weather Training:  Please, notice that this coming Monday, 24 May the training will not take place due to holidays. All the other dates will be happening on the usual regular base and people with movement experience are welcome to join the training at any time.

WORKSHOP MARTIAL ARTS TO PHYSICAL THEATER

Workshop with Elías Cohen at TANZ HOCH ZWEI at Tanzfabrik Berlin

From Martial Arts to Physical Theater

Within martial arts, intuition and action are simultaneous. This workshop applies this key principle to the context of physical theatre and improvisation, connecting Kung-Fu, Aikido, Capoeira.

We are now holding auditions for The Berlin Post School of Physical Theatre-Dance in Berlin on the 13th and 14th of February 2010. If you can not come you must send your material (video plus curriculum) to us.

Body Weather Training
November 2009 : Permanent Body Weather KiM Training & Manipulations, Berlin.

Elias Cohen is leading from 02 of November 2009 the regular practice of Body Weather KiM Training. This is a demanding and complete body mind work out relevant for dancers of any style, actors and movers in general. The training comes also with an effective system of body manipulation originally created by Chinese acrobats.

August 2009 : Award in Brazil

Elias Cohen got the prize as “Best Director” at the Sao Paulo Theatre Festival with the play “Lilá o Jogo de Deus”. The piece was created by E. Cohen with the final year student from the Theatre Department at Unicamp University (Sao Paulo). Due to its success it is now touring as a professional piece in several cities and states of Brazil.

January Butoh Workshop with Collaborator Minako Seki

The well known japanese Butoh dancer and choreographer Minako Seki is giving a unique, long and intensive workshop of 5 weeks from 11th January to 12 February 2010 in Berlin. To complement Minako’s teachings there will be collaborators as Elías Cohen (Physical Theatre-Dance) and Christa Flaig (African Dance)
